On August 2 and 3, 2025, the '15th Busan Robot Contest' will take place at BEXCO and Dongmyeong University in Haeundae, Busan. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the contest, hosted by the Busan Metropolitan City and organized by the Korea Robot Convergence Research Institute with support from the Busan Office of Education, making it the largest robot festival in the Yeongnam region.

There is great anticipation for this year's event, where various programs and competitions will unfold.

This event will feature education and experience programs focused on future technologies such as AI, IoT, coding, and marine robots. More than 335 teams and over 640 participants from elementary school students to college students are expected to participate.

Full-fledged robot competition for elementary, middle, and high school students… A total of 8 categories

2025 15th Busan Robot Contest

This contest consists of a total of 8 competition categories. The elementary division features 4 categories, while the middle/high school and college divisions each have 3 and 1 categories, respectively.



Robot Curling

The elementary division offers a variety of activities.

▲ Robot Curling ▲ Robot Siege ▲ Escape Room Robots ▲ Elementary Hackathon, etc.

These play-centered problem-solving missions provide a great opportunity for children to express their creativity and teamwork skills.

AI Autonomous Driving Car

In the middle/high school division, programs such as AI robot production, autonomous vehicle development, and AIoT silver tech makerthon will be conducted. These activities focus on practical projects using AI-based convergence technology while evaluating participants' coding skills and logical thinking abilities.

Marine Robot Challenge (for women in STEM)


The college division will feature the Marine Robot Challenge. Starting this year, a special category for female engineering students has been added, garnering considerable interest. This competition will be held at Dongmyeong University's Marine Robot Hall and will be streamed live on the large screen at BEXCO, allowing participants to experience it directly.

The Robot Contest is not just a competition venue. Various experiential booths and invited lectures from celebrities are prepared for the general audience and families. These programs provide attendees with a richer experience.



Elementary family experience category

A family experience program for elementary school students is arranged. This program consists of 3 categories and includes ▲ Ddakji Robot ▲ Stone Tower Robot ▲ Tuho Robot. It offers children an opportunity to enjoy while naturally learning about robotic principles through traditional games.

Additionally, booth experience programs are operated, including ▲ AI Go/Othello games ▲ DIY coding robots ▲ AI autonomous vehicle demonstration ▲ AI robotic arm caricature experience, among others. Participants can deepen their understanding of robotic technologies applied in real life through hands-on experiences with coding and sensor technology.

Lecture by Professor Han Jae-kwon

A lecture by Professor Han Jae-kwon is scheduled. The theme of this lecture is “The Era When Robots Think and Humans Ask Questions,” discussing the future of robot society in a way that is easy for young people to understand.

This lecture, which integrates humanities and science and technology, is expected to provide a new perspective on robots. We hope many interested individuals will participate.

The event schedule runs from August 2 (Saturday) to August 3 (Sunday), 2025, with operating hours from 9 AM to 6 PM.

The venue is set at the 4D Hall of BEXCO's second exhibition center and the Marine Robot Hall of Dongmyeong University's International University Building.

The opening ceremony will be held at 10:30 AM on August 2nd in the first floor of BEXCO’s second exhibition hall, with about 40 attendees expected from Busan City, the Busan City Council, and research institutions.
