Gyeongnam Province is recruiting weekend fishing hosts for 2025! "Make Mud at Gyeongnam!"
Gyeongsangnam-do has prepared a special program for those looking for marine living spaces to revitalize fishing and coastal areas.
From May 10, it has been decided to operate weekend fishing at three fishing experience villages in the province.
The recruitment period is from April 28 to May 8, with 15 teams (based on families of four) selected on a first-come, first-served basis. This program will provide a great opportunity to experience fishing village life every weekend for approximately three months.
Overview of Weekend Fishing Operations and Participating Villages
Gyeongsangnam-do was the first in the country to implement the weekend fishing program last year, receiving positive evaluations. This year, the program will be expanded by dividing it into the first and second halves of the year.
In the first half, it will be conducted at Okgye and Dadae villages in Geoje, and Munhang village in Namhae, while in the second half, the locations will shift to Okgye and Dadae villages in Geoje, and Ryongdaemi village in Goseong.
The operation period will be from May to July, occurring twice a month for a total of six sessions, depending on the tides.
Various Experience Programs
Participants in the weekend fishing program can enjoy various experience programs.
Firstly, mudflat experiences are prepared, allowing activities such as shellfish catching, snail catching, and clam digging, bringing participants closer to nature.
Additionally, participants can experience fishing activities using traps, and enjoy marine leisure activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding, and beach foot baths.
Moreover, collecting shell debris on the beach to create handicrafts offers an interesting time.
All participants will receive a 'Welcome Seafood Package (Amenity)' made up of local specialties, providing an even more special experience.
Participant Support Benefits
Participants can receive support for leasing fees of up to 220,000 won, with special additional benefits prepared for each village.
First, in Geoje's Okgye village, accommodation vouchers that provide one free night for one night of stay, along with a 50% discount coupon for use at the village café and welcome food, are provided.
Next, in Geoje's Dadae village, a full-course mudflat experience and craft programs are prepared for an engaging experience.
Finally, in Namhae's Munhang village, discounts on clam digging experiences are offered.
This year, additional discounts for secondary experience programs or accommodations will be added according to each village's situation, so there are high expectations.

Families wishing to participate in the first half of the weekend fishing must consist of four or more members, and recruitment will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis from April 28 to May 8.
