Homigot Canola Flower Field – Where the Yellow Sea Meets the Sunrise

Around the Homigot Sunrise Plaza, from mid-April to early May, 150,000 pyeong of canola flowers are in full bloom, showcasing beautiful spring scenery.

In 2025, the festival will take place on April 5 and 6, with free admission. Also, the parking lots at the Sunrise Plaza and the temporary parking lot are available for free. If you visit early in the morning, you can enjoy the beautiful flower fields in a quiet atmosphere. However, if you wish to take drone shots, a separate application is required outside of restricted areas, so it's important to check in advance.

Homigot Coastal Walking Trail – A 25km Walk Following the Sound of Waves

Homigot Coastal Walking Trail

If you head north from Homigot, a beautiful coastal walking trail stretches for 25km within about a 10-minute distance. Here, the sound of waves, rocky cliffs, and wooden deck paths harmoniously create the best trekking course.

Particularly recommended sections are the Yeonorang-Seonyeo Legend Trail (6.1km) and the Sunba Trail (5.2km). These consist of gentle deck paths, making them comfortable for children and the elderly.

Benches, restrooms, and drinking fountains are conveniently placed along the beach. Additionally, there is a charming cafe street at the end of Dugu Beach, perfect for enjoying a coffee in leisure.

If traveling by car, it's convenient to use the parking lots at Yeonorang-Seonyeo Park or Dugu Beach.

Space Walk – The World's First 'Walking Roller Coaster'

Space Walk

Located in Hwanho Park north of Yeongildae Beach, there is a unique facility called Space Walk. This consists of a curved steel structure measuring 333m long and 25m high.

Admission is free, but the number of people allowed to enter at the same time is limited to 150. Additionally, for safety reasons, hats and mobile phones must be stored in bags, and selfie sticks and tripods are not permitted. Following safety rules is essential for an enjoyable viewing experience.

Space Walk

Operating hours are from 10 AM to 8 PM from March to November, and from 6 PM in December to February. The first Monday of each month is a holiday, so please take note.

To enjoy the night view, it is advisable to arrive 30 minutes before sunset. Parking at Hwanho Park’s 1st and 2nd lots is free, but there may be a shortage of parking spaces on weekend afternoons. Therefore, taking buses 102 or 200 is also a good option.

Jukdo Market – The Heart of Pohang's Culinary Scene

Located just 5 minutes by taxi from Pohang Station, Jukdo Market is known as a seafood paradise. It is divided into various sections including fishery halls 1 and 2, sashimi centers, and dried seafood alleys, with fresh sliced sashimi provided at around 35,000 won per serving. Seasonal seafood like sea squirt and scallops are also available at affordable prices, making it a beloved spot for many.

Pohang Jukdo Market

The public parking available at the market charges 500 won for 30 minutes and 1,000 won for one hour, making it budget-friendly for vehicle users.

Visiting between 6 AM to 8 AM after wholesale auctions will allow you to enjoy the freshest seafood, while some sashimi centers run discount events around 4 PM.

In addition, taking a walk to nearby Rose Park and the Marine Skywalk will make for an enriching day.

Igari Anchor Observatory – A Sensation of Walking on the Sea

The 'Igari Anchor Observatory' located in Igari, Cheongha-myeon, Pohang, extends 120m into the sea with its uniquely shaped deck resembling an anchor. Here, you can experience special sensations with the ocean view unfolding beneath your feet.

Entry is free, and operating hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM from March to May and September to November. During summer months from June to August, the hours extend to 8 PM.

Free parking is available in the lot in front of the observatory, but it may get crowded on weekends, so parking at the nearby beach and walking is recommended. Additionally, setting up a tripod 30 minutes before sunrise will allow you to take stunning photos.

In spring, seaweed harvesting experiences are also available, so it's a good idea to bring gloves and boots.

On the second day, begin your day with the sunrise at Igari Anchor Observatory. Afterwards, take a leisurely walk at Cheongha Beach, winding up your trip as you head back home.

In terms of transportation, you can take a taxi or a bus after arriving at Pohang Station. Using a car or renting a vehicle makes it convenient to reach major tourist attractions within 10 to 30 minutes. Most locations have free parking lots; however, visiting after 11 PM on weekends during rush hour is advisable.
