Where to Go on a Trip to Fukuoka with Kids?

Trip to Fukuoka

Fukuoka is the central city of Kyushu, Japan, and a very attractive place for family travelers. Especially families with young children should carefully consider the weather, route, various content, and amenities when choosing a travel destination.

Fukuoka City Zoo

The Fukuoka City Zoo and the Fukuoka Anpanman Children's Museum are beloved attractions for both locals and tourists. I will be visiting Fukuoka with my 3-year-old during the June holidays, so I have researched these two places in advance. Here is the information that could help with our visit plans.

The nearest subway station is Yakuin Odori Station on the Nanakuma Line, which takes about 15 minutes to walk to. To use public transportation, take the Nishitetsu bus No. 56 or 58 and get off at the 'Zoo Entrance' stop.

Parking fees for passenger cars are 500 yen per visit. However, during peak season, parking spaces are often full in the morning hours, so it is advisable to use public transportation.

In the Asia Savannah zone, elephants can be viewed, which is very popular among visitors. In addition, the ZooLab features interactive exhibitions, and the ZOO spot guide explained by zookeepers is also of great interest to many visitors.

Next to the main gate, there are amusement rides, and facilities such as stroller rental and a free shuttle bus to aid uphill navigation are available, making it convenient for family visitors.

Especially the SL-man Road Train operates only on weekends and holidays, and you must get a designated ticket from the 1st-floor lobby to ride it.

Strollers are not allowed inside, so visitors must use the storage located at the entrance on the 5th floor. However, baby carriers are available for free rental, which is convenient.
