Children's Week, Gyeongnam Transforms into a Playground for Kids
Gyeongsangnam-do designates May 1 to 7 as 'Children's Week' every year, holding various festivals across the 18 cities and counties in the province.
This year's theme for Children's Day, which marks its 103rd celebration, is 'Play, Experience, Family'. The Children's Day events held in Gyeongsangnam-do provide children with opportunities to play freely while offering parents valuable rest and memories.
The lawn of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Office, along with various regions such as Changwon, Jinju, Tongyeong, Gimhae, Miryang, Yangsan, Changnyeong, Namhae, and Sancheong, is preparing a variety of experience programs and performances in May that children can enjoy together.
Additionally, events commemorating Children's Day in 2025 will be held in various places across the country, including Seoul, Busan, and Daegu. Please check the details through the links below.
Gyeongnam Provincial Office Lawn, ‘Kids Value ♥ Happiness Together’
On May 3, the lawn located west of the Gyeongnam Provincial Office was filled with a variety of programs for the day. Activities like air bounces, pedal boats, puppet shows, and magic shows were part of the event, allowing over 1,000 families to participate and enjoy their time together.
Many expressed surprise, saying “I never expected the provincial office to become such a wonderful playground.” The Gyeongsangnam-do Deputy Governor stated, “Gyeongnam will actively support children, the future leaders, so they can freely grow their dreams.”
Additionally, a child abuse prevention campaign and an exhibition of contest-winning works were conducted, deepening the significance of this festival.
Changwon, Jinju, Tongyeong: A Stage for Experiences Connecting Sea and City
On May 5, Changwon will transform the 3.15 Marine Nuri Park into a large playground. Marine-themed experiences against the backdrop of the sea are expected to attract much attention. Additionally, the Changwon Children's Grand Festival will take place on May 5 from 10 AM to 5 PM.
An event commemorating Children's Day will take place at the outdoor performance hall within the Jinju Comprehensive Sports Complex.
From 9:30 AM to 2 PM on May 5, various sports games and science experience programs will be available.
This will be a great opportunity to have a fun time with your children.
Tongyeong will conduct water and marine activities against the backdrop of Jukrim Bay. Children will have the chance to experience the beauty of the sea through kayaking.
This commemorative festival for Children's Day in Tongyeong will be held at Naejukdo Water Park and Jukrim Bay from 10:30 AM to 3 PM on May 5.
Gimhae, Miryang, Yangsan: A Place Where Tradition Meets Play
On May 3, the 'Dream Tree Grand Festival' will be held in the areas around Su-rungwon in Gimhae. This event will feature various programs that harmonize the past and future, including traditional tightrope walking and robot experiences.

In Miryang, various events will take place between May 3 and 4 at Hanam Sports Park and the Comprehensive Sports Complex. Here, the Children's Dream Sports Event and the Miryang Grand Children's Festival will take place, allowing visitors to experience the warm country atmosphere.
The Children's Dream Sports Event will be held at Hanam Sports Park from 10 AM to 4 PM on May 3, while the Miryang Children's Grand Festival will be held at the auxiliary stadium of the Comprehensive Sports Complex from 9:30 AM to 3 PM on May 4. These events will provide great joy to local residents.
In Yangsan, Children's Day events will take place simultaneously at the Comprehensive Sports Complex and Seochang Sports Park. In particular, the children's marathon and cooking classes that families can participate in are popular.
The Celebration Event in Yangsan will take place at the Comprehensive Sports Complex from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM on May 3, while the Family Event at the Seochang Sports Park is set for the same day from 10 AM to 4 PM. A variety of programs are prepared to provide enjoyable experiences for family visitors.
Changnyeong, Namhae, Sancheong: A Festival of Learning and Fun in Nature
The 'Children's Day Grand Festival' will be held on May 5 at the Changnyeong County Sports Center Plaza. This festival will feature a more abundant natural ecosystem experience booth, providing children with various experiences. The festival will take place from 10:30 AM to 3 PM.
The 'Island Village Grand Festival' is scheduled to take place at Namhae Sports Park from 9:30 AM to 4 PM on May 5. Rural traditional games will provide diverse fun, adding to the joy of the Children's Day festival. Many are expected to gather to enjoy the festival.
A special event called 'GREEN Day' will be held at the Sancheong Cultural Arts Center on May 3.
On this day, an outdoor forest playground and insect observation experience will be available from 1 PM to 5:30 PM, providing an opportunity to feel the pristine nature.
Many are expected to show interest and participate in this event commemorating Children's Day.
Gyeongnam Children's Day: The Best Festival for the Whole Family
In Gyeongnam, a Children's Day festival will be held in May to celebrate Family Month. This event will feature experience-oriented programs that highlight local characteristics, providing children with opportunities to expand their imagination.
In addition to the large playground installed on the lawn of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Office, various content will be prepared in multiple regions such as Changwon, Jinju, Tongyeong, Gimhae, Miryang, Yangsan, Changnyeong, Namhae, and Sancheong. These programs will create precious memories for the entire family.
