An exciting culinary journey begins in Busan's old downtown.
The 10th Busan Old Town Revitalization Festival
This event will introduce hidden restaurants recommended by taxi drivers and provide participants with the opportunity to experience various cuisines firsthand.
Gourmet on the road, restaurants in Busan recommended by taxi drivers
A festival to explore Busan's hidden food gems is being held. This event will feature experienced taxi drivers recommending their favorite spots, providing their own special guides. During the festival, a 'Taksulin Guidebook' will be distributed, containing information about restaurants selected through a survey of 250 taxi drivers and desserts and cafes recommended by citizens.
This guidebook does not merely list restaurants; it includes interviews with taxi drivers, useful driving tips, and information about the specially developed 'Taksulin Limited Menu'. Additionally, an English-translated version is available for foreign tourists, allowing diverse visitors to utilize it. We hope you experience the true flavors of Busan through this festival.
This year, not only taxi driver recommendations but also active input from citizens will enrich the culinary information provided. Since its first launch last year, food travel content has gained immense popularity, receiving attention from various media and YouTube.
Diverse participation programs to enhance the joy of the festival
This festival offers various programs that allow participants to experience the charm of Busan's old downtown.
In addition to food explorations, various experiential activities are prepared to ensure a delightful time.
The 'Taste Recall' mission walking tour offers a special experience in the city while remembering flavors. This program is designed around the food culture of the old downtown, allowing participants to engage with local content while completing various missions on foot. Particularly, various events and busking performances will take place, making for an interesting time.
Additionally, the market direct delivery cooking class is a program where participants learn to cook using local specialties. This process includes a market exploration, allowing participants to deeply engage with the diverse food culture of the region alongside a merchant association guide. These experiences make the local flavors even more special.
There is a tent bar with a fantastic night view of the city. Here, you can taste local specialties such as roe ramen and Choryang fish cake skewers.
The culinary journey with a taxi offers a unique experience exploring hidden restaurants in the old downtown. Guided by the driver, you can enjoy various dishes as you head to randomly selected eateries.
The highlight of the festival - Taksulin Opening Ceremony
The Taksulin Opening Ceremony, which marks the beginning of the festival, will be held on May 16th at 7:30 PM at Busan Station Square. This event will feature 150 citizens selected through a pre-reservation, and this year's Taksulin new menu will be unveiled for the first time.
The new menu being introduced this time is a special dish created in collaboration with Chef Lee Gyu-jin from the Michelin Guide restaurant ‘Ramji’ and named ‘Gokwan Hamburger’, which has been listed in the 2024 Taksulin Guide.
This new menu, achieved through the collaboration of local restaurants and food experts, conveys deeper meaning.
This special dish will be available for one month at the ‘Gokwan Hamburger’ restaurant.
How to make a reservation and use the guidebook
The Taksulin Opening Ceremony requires a reservation in advance, and the price is 13,900 won per person. The mission walking tour 'Taste Recall' also requires pre-reservation, with a participation fee of 10,000 won per person.
