The 22nd Busan International Theater Festival BIPAF, organized by Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan International Theater Festival Organizing Committee, will take place at various venues in Busan from May 23 to June 1.

Opening performance: Tragùdia - The Song of Oedipus

The opening ceremony will take place on May 23 at 7 PM at the Busan Cinema Center’s Sky Theater. The event will feature the first domestic performance of presented by the Sardinia Theatre from Italy. This work offers a modern reinterpretation of the ancient Greek tragedy and has garnered significant attention.

2. Closing performance: The Vegetarian
The play , directed by Italian director Daria Deflorian, has been selected as the closing performance. This work is a powerful theatrical expression reinterpreting the novel by Korean author Han Kang. It can be viewed on June 1 at the Busan Cinema Center’s Sky Theater.

3. K-Stage

This program is aimed at promoting Korean performance content to the global stage, featuring various works from
Pansori Ajit Nollaebox,
the theater company Mak,
