Do You Know the Pet Paradise in Busan, the Pet Specialized Street?
If you are a pet lover residing in Busan, there is a must-visit place. That is the "Pet Specialized Street" located in the underground shopping area connecting Gwangalli Station and Suyeong Station.
This area, approximately 200 meters long, is the longest pet complex cultural and shopping street in the country, featuring a variety of pet supply stores, grooming salons, hospitals, hotels, and is the only themed street in Busan.
Located between Gwangalli and Haeundae, it is easily accessible, and as an indoor space, it is the perfect location for enjoying walks or shopping with your pets regardless of the weather.
What is the Pet Specialized Street?
This street, which newly opened in November 2024, currently houses over 40 pet-related businesses. A variety of shops and services are available, providing a convenient environment for visitors.
Major facilities include stores specializing in pet food and snacks, pet supplies and clothing shops, dog grooming salons and animal hospitals, cozy pet cafes and kindergartens, as well as adoption centers and behavioral correction consulting offices. These various services are a great help for people accompanied by pets.
Several public services for pets are provided here. These include animal registration support, health check-ups, etiquette education, and QR pet card issuance. Moreover, various educational and experiential programs are also offered for both pet owners and non-pet owners.
The Upcoming “Pet Station Open House” Event, Full of Free Experiences
On May 31 and June 1, the 'Pet Station Open House Festival' will be held for two days in the pet specialized street. The event will run from 11 AM to 6 PM, and various experiential programs are being prepared, which is highly anticipated.
Various free experiential events for dogs will be held, including hygiene grooming and massage services, as well as a tasting event for 'Mungpuccino'. Additionally, there will be discounted tastings of Dr. Mama's food and dental chews.
Dog grooming experiences and idol styling will also be available. Health consultations, roulette games, and nostalgic lottery activities will be prepared, promising joyful times with your dog.
Special benefits for cat owners will also be provided, such as half-price admission events for cat cafes and giveaways of lavender eye water. This will ensure that the festival is enjoyable for both dogs and cats.
Busan City’s Active Support... Expectations for the Activation of the Pet Industry
The City of Busan is exploring various measures to activate the pet-related specialized street. As part of this, it is hosting pet festivals, enhancing promotions, and implementing policies for administrative support and entrepreneurship encouragement.
In particular, a large-scale pet festival is planned for July with a budget of 40 million KRW. Alongside this, there are plans to install signage and improve accessibility and awareness of the underground shopping center.
Additionally, to attract entrepreneurs and expand the number of vendors, various programs such as customized consulting, online promotion, and market development support will be operated. Through these efforts, Busan aims to systematically develop its pet industry.
A Space Where Both Dogs and Cats Can Be Happy
The pet specialized street in Busan is becoming a complex cultural space where pets and their owners can communicate and enjoy together, beyond a simple shopping area.
This space is designed as an indoor environment, allowing visits regardless of the weather. Additionally, its location between Gwangalli and Haeundae makes it an attractive spot for travelers.
This weekend, why not enjoy a special day with your beloved and precious pet through the ‘Pet Station Open House’?
