Gyeongju is a city where you can enjoy delicious food along with various attractions.
When you stay at Hanwha Resort, it's very convenient as there are many excellent restaurants nearby, so you don't have to cook yourself.

If you go out towards Soyowon Garden from the Damton East side of the resort, you will find 'Taxsan Garden', which specializes in Texas-style barbecue. This place is an attractive restaurant that offers a combination of atmosphere, taste, and convenience.
The Essence of Texas: What is Taxsan (TAXSAN)?
Upon seeing the sign for the first time, I was curious about the name 'Taxsan (TAXSAN)'. I assume it is a combination of Texas and the Korean pronunciation of Hanja.
The exterior of the building is decorated in a wooden style reminiscent of a western film, and the interior features large tables arranged in a well-ventilated manner, creating a very appealing atmosphere. It is an optimal place to enjoy barbecue and beer.

We visited with one child and two adults. Fortunately, there were plenty of baby chairs available, so dining with our child was very comfortable.
True to Hanwha Resort being a family-oriented place, the restaurant also offered a very friendly environment for guests with infants.
Most tables were arranged in a spacious manner, allowing for comfortable dining with plenty of spacing between seats.

The ordered Taxsan Brisket Duo Platter is 69,000 won for two people. It was abundantly served, sufficient for 2.5 servings, which was satisfying.
The brisket is full of deep smoky flavor, tender, and not tough. The pulled pork is moist shredded pork, which is delicately flavored. The chicken is enhanced with slightly spicy seasonings for added flavor. The sausage is juicy and has an appealing savory taste.
The baked beans, essential for barbecue, are sweetened bean stews that enhance the meal. The coleslaw is a tangy cabbage salad that excites the palate. The grilled vegetables add a unique taste with various roasted vegetables like eggplant and bell peppers. Potato salad provides a rich and smooth texture that complements the meal. Lastly, the morning bread is the perfect combination to eat with meat.
The brisket's texture is tender and moist like boiled pork
The most memorable thing was the unique texture of the brisket. True to Texas-style barbecue, the subtle smoky aroma was present, and it was impressively tender and moist. The pulled pork felt like a high-end version of Korean boiled pork, which suited Korean tastes well.
The child enjoyed the meat placed in the morning bread. Overall, it wasn't greasy and had a clean taste, making it suitable for family meals.
Although it is normally served for two, it was enough for two adults and one child. With various side dishes provided, we could enjoy a balanced meal beyond just eating meat.
A Beer, Perfect American Atmosphere, and a Fantastic Combination with Budweiser Draft
The Budweiser draft beer (8,000 won) enjoyed with the platter was truly an excellent combination. Taking a bite of the salty meat and sipping the cool beer felt refreshing, perfectly suiting the hot weather.
The menu offers various options like Stella, Hoegaarden, and Highball (Kentucky Walker), so you can choose according to your personal taste. The menu composition is great for a charming dinner, providing a satisfying experience.
